Training Credit Programs (Benefiting 2019 Coverage Year)

Affirmative Defense Training Credit

This credit gives your team basic information on avoiding common and costly sources of loss. Participating districts earn 5% off their following year's Liability coverage.

STEP ONE

To get started with the Pool's Training Credit programs, please fill out this survey to initiate the process. This survey must be completed annually.

STEP TWO

Ensure that at least 80% of these people:

  • All full time employees, managers and supervisors
  • All part time employees, managers and supervisors
  • Temporary employees employed by the district

Pass ONE eligible course on our Training Center between October 1, 2017 and September 30, 2018. Here's a list of our top picks:

  • Sexual Harassment Awareness
  • Slips, Trips, and Falls Prevention
  • Fleet Program Safe Backing
  • Distracted Driving
  • Back Injury Prevention

TIPS

  • Start early! The tracking period starts on October 1, so get started right away!
  • Have new hires complete one of the courses as part of their orientation.
  • Rolling out training like this to a large organization is challenging, so try asking everyone to take the same course to simplify your message.
  • Diversify! Some employees may be more apt to take the training if they can pick which course appeals to them.

FINE PRINT

Credit applies only to Liability and cannot reduce a contribution below minimum. This training must be completed between October 1, 2017 and September 30, 2018 and all credits will be applied to 2019 coverage year. For information about previous program years, accessing this training in a group setting, or utilizing outside training, please contact us.

Supervisor Training Credit

This credit is designed to give district leadership the knowledge to make informed decisions in employment-related practices and risk management. Participating districts earn 5% off their following year's Liability coverage.

  • All human resources personnel
  • Any other people who have direct reports

Pass one eligible course on our Training Center between October 1, 2017 and September 30, 2018. Here are our top picks:

  • Ethics in the Workplace
  • Risk Assessment Analysis
  • Preventing Discrimination in the Workplace
  • Sexual Harassment Awareness for Supervisors
